OK, there it is - my entry for Windows Deviant8 Contest
It tooks me many hours but finaly I've done it!
I wanted to create a mockup of Win theme that can be programed and that can works
on Vistas or Win7s (not a futuristic unreal theme without taskbar and windows).
My ideal theme should be minimalistic, dark, blue and practical.
Something for an explanation:TASKBAR
Many of us have notebooks and they have usualy small 15,4" screen, so it's important to have maximum space for work and not to have a BIG taskbar with big buttons. So my taskbar is small on high, dark (like whole mood of the theme), little bit transparent and with small gloss.
START button is small darkblue and black elipse, not like the red-yellow-blue-green monster W7-button.
To the right we have some small buttons in quick launch bar and some taskbar buttons with running programs. It should be minimalistic theme so there is nothing else more only the clock with "LCD" font.START MENU
The left part of start menu has dark grey color and it's not transparent. The right side is black and semitransparent (about 60-70%)
The user picture on start menu is semitransparent too.WINDOW
Frame is black and semitransparent, inside the window there is dark grey area with no transparency.
New "min" - "max" - "close" buttons are blue on black.DOCK
You could use ObjectDock for example, it's free and you can change the skin and the icons how you like. The used skin is my own. Icons from Iconspedia.comGADGETS
You can use some desktop gadgets, I chosed "weather", "mail" and "system performance". Skins are my own again.MP3 PLAYER
I use AIMP2 player, it's free, it has many and many functions and you can change the transparency and look with many skins ofcourse. Used style is "Black Radiance Style"
